At the time that this book was written, Marlin L Clark was a Certified Lay Speaker in the United Methodist Church. He taught classes to others seeking to become Certified Lay Speakers on the subjects of Leading Prayer, Spiritual Discipline, teaching the Bible and other subjects similar to the chapter headings of this book. Believe God Loves You was written as material for a weekly adult Bible study group tht he lead. In addition to teaching and writing, Marlin also loves to preach. As Lay Leader in his local church in Fallbrook, California, he generally preached whenever the senior minister was away. He also has preached in several other Methodist Churches in Orange and San Diego Counties (Southern California) and in Western Nebraska.
Since moving to Tustin CA, Marlin is working on his new book, What Do You Believe: God's Miracles in the Old and New Testaments. He is also sharing the lead on a Weekly Men's Bible Study group
Marlin has been married for over 69 years. He and his wife Yvonne have three grown children, eight grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren. Family is very important in Marlin and Yvonne’s lives and each member of their extended family has had some effect on where Marlin is today in his walk with God.
